Phoebe Bridgers has been forced to cancel the rest of her forthcoming intimate UK appearances after contracting appendicitis.
The singer-songwriter released her third solo album, Lost Weekend, on August 14th, after six years away from the spotlight.
In celebration of the release, the Boy Genius star announced a huge arena tour that will keep her busy around the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe from September onwards.
However, only two days before the album was released, Bridgers announced two sets of four shows around the UK the week following the release, hitting London, Bristol, Brighton and Kingston with an intimate matinee show and evening show.
As per The Guardian, the ‘Scott Street’ soared through two sets at London’s Union Chapel, which, saw her play on a throw-covered sofa infront of a TV screen and multiple lava lamps.
However, on August 19th, Bridgers took to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of herself in hospital, with the caption, “I got appendicitis for my birthday everything in the UK this week will have to move but I’ll make it up to you!”
At the time of writing, Brighton’s Chalk, Kingston’s Circuit, and Bristol’s Electric have yet to acknowledge the cancellation, and there has been no word of official postponement or refund processing.
Phoebe Bridgers had also announced a surprise Lost Weekend album signing at London’s Rough Trade East on August 19th, which she will also no longer be able to make.
Only an hour before the doors were set to open, the venue posted a statement on their Instagram Story, which read, “We are sorry to announce that Phoebe’s signing today is cancelled due to ill health. We hope she gets better soon. We will be in touch via dice with further information.”
