The deceased was identified as Tasfia Ahmed Tisha, 31, a teacher at Milestone School and College in Aftabnagar.
The accident occurred around 5:45pm in front of Basumati Hospital on the main road.
According to police, Tisha was returning home when a bus of Ramjan Paribahan struck her, throwing her onto the road. A bus of Tisha Paribahan then ran over her, leaving her critically injured.
Passers-by rescued her and took her to Farazi Hospital, where she received initial treatment before her family transferred her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Doctors there declared her dead around 9:30pm.
