The Jahangirnagar University administration has imposed a temporary ban on the entry of outsiders and vehicles without university stickers to its campus tonight ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.
According to an emergency notice issued today (19 July) and signed by Acting Registrar Dr ABM Azizur Rahman, the restriction will remain in force from 5pm today until 6am tomorrow.
The measure had been taken to prevent any untoward incidents during the World Cup final, which is scheduled to kick off at 1am.
During the restricted period, only vehicles carrying official Jahangirnagar University stickers will be allowed to enter the campus through its gates. Outsiders as well as motorcycles and cars without university stickers will not be permitted.
The university administration urged students, staff and all concerned to cooperate in maintaining overall security on the campus during the final.
