Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (5 August) forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind over most parts of the country during the next 24 hours beginning from 9am.
According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions.
Moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at places across the country.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin said.
The country’s highest temperature yesterday was recorded at 32.5 degrees Celsius in Koyra of Khulna division, while today’s lowest temperature was 23.3 degrees Celsius in Narayanganj under Dhaka division.
During the last 24 hours ending at 6am today, the highest rainfall of 198 millimetres was recorded in Hatiya under Chattogram division.
In the capital, the sun will set at 6:39pm today and rise at 5:29am tomorrow.
