Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Jashore this morning (27 April) to inaugurate Ulashi Canal excavation project and attend various programmes, including a public rally and civic reception.
Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said that the premier landed at Jashore Airport at around 10:20am on a domestic flight.
During the day-long visit, the prime minister will inaugurate the canal excavation project in Sharsha upazila and address a civic reception there.
Later, after offering Duhr prayers and having lunch at the Jashore Circuit House, he will lay the foundation stone of Jashore Medical College Hospital and visit the Jashore Institute Public Library.
In the afternoon, Tarique Rahman will address a public rally at Jashore Central Eidgah Ground, organised by the district BNP unit.
The prime minister is expected to return to Dhaka by air in the evening after completing his programmes. This is Tarique Rahman’s first visit to Jashore since assuming office as prime minister.
He last visited the district on 2 February, when he addressed an election rally at Jashore Upashahar Degree College Ground as the BNP chairperson.
