The former Jamalpur-1 lawmaker was arrested in connection with a case over a cocktail explosion during a procession brought out by the activities banned Awami League in the capital, police say.

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested former Jamalpur-1 lawmaker Noor Mohammad in the capital’s Gulshan area tonight (27 June).
DB Chief and Additional Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the arrest to The Business Standard.
He said Noor Mohammad was arrested in a case filed over a cocktail explosion during a procession allegedly organised by the activities banned Awami League and its affiliated organisations near the Mohakhali Bus Terminal in the capital earlier this month.
Shafiqul also said the former lawmaker is facing additional cases in Jamalpur.
According to police, leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies brought out a brief procession in the Mohakhali Bus Terminal area at around 9:15am on 18 June.
Several cocktails were reportedly detonated during the procession.
Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station personnel detained three people from the scene immediately after the incident.
