Charlize Theron loves nature, yet a nightmare incident occurred while she was camping in the dead of night.
During the promotions for her latest film, Apex, she reveals the shocking real-life story that seems to come straight out of a horror book.
“I like nature. I’m not scared of it [but] I’m not like a crazy camper or anything like that. It’s like the scariest,” she tells People, as the movie is based on the Australian outback.
Despite not being scared of nature, Theron faced a shocking incident that stunned her.
“I’ve gone camping back in the day in places that probably, you know, were not the safest, and you’d wake up at 4 a.m. in the morning, and somebody’s like shooting a gun right next to you,” the actress recalls.
That heart-pounding memory, Theron shares, crept back when she was on the Apex set, “You think about that stuff.”
The film’s logline read, “A grieving woman (Charlize Theron) testing her limits in the Australian wilderness is suddenly ensnared in a deadly game with a ruthless predator (Taron Egerton).”
Apex will debut on Netflix on April 24, 2026.
