Bangladesh Police today (6 May) sought support from Italy in enhancing Bangladesh Police’s cyber security capabilities and in providing specialised training on various security-related issues.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir made the appeal when Italian Ambassador Antonio Alessandro paid a courtesy call on him at the Police Headquarters.
The police chief emphasised the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
At the meeting, Alessandro expressed interest in expanding ongoing collaboration with Bangladesh Police, particularly in training initiatives and capacity building in areas such as irregular immigration, human trafficking, smuggling and security assistance.
Senior officials of the Bangladesh Police were present at the meeting.
