Jatiya Chhatra Shakti President Zahid Ahsan has resigned from his post, with Senior Vice-President Ahsan Labib assuming charge as acting president of the student organisation.
The decision was taken at the organisation’s fifth general meeting held at its temporary office at Rupayan Tower in Dhaka’s Banglamotor today (2 September).
Jatiya Chhatra Shakti General Secretary Abu Baker Mojumder confirmed the development to The Business Standard.
He said Zahid resigned citing personal and family reasons, and the general meeting accepted his resignation.
The organisation will hold its first council on 12 September, he added.
