A $30 million annual apparel partnership has been signed between Bangladesh’s leading garment manufacturer and exporter Vision Group and India-based Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., marking a significant milestone in regional textile and apparel cooperation.
The agreement, valued at $30 million a year, reflects the growing synergy between the apparel industries of Bangladesh and India.
Vision Group is a leading manufacturer and exporter of woven and knit apparel in Bangladesh, with an annual turnover of approximately $70 million. The company has established itself as a key player in the country’s ready-made garments sector through its strong focus on quality manufacturing, compliance, and global export excellence.
The new collaboration with Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., a renowned apparel company in India, is expected to create new opportunities for business expansion, supply chain integration, and regional market growth.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday (15 May) at Vision Group’s office located in Savar. The agreement was signed by AHA Gaffar, director of Vision Group, and Poorana Seenivasan, chief executive officer and director of Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., representing their respective organisations.
The agreement signing ceremony was, attended, among others, Vision Group Chairman ASM Mahfuz, Managing Director Dr AKM, Executive Directors Labib Mahfuz, and Samira Hamid, executive director of Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd, Rohit Sharma and Country director (Bangladesh) of Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd.
Officials from both companies described the agreement as an important step toward strengthening regional cooperation in the textile and apparel sector. They added that the collaboration will support sourcing, production, and international market expansion initiatives for both sides.
Regarding the market focus, the partners said that the primary export destinations will include the United States, followed by major markets such as Australia and Canada. The product mix will include a wide range of apparel items, particularly tops and bottoms, tailored to global buyers.
They also added that both companies will work closely through their communication and operations teams to finalise official write-ups, branding materials, and photographic documentation for corporate and publication use.
Representatives from both organisations expressed their optimism that the partnership would enhance operational capabilities and create long-term strategic growth opportunities in global markets

“We believe this collaboration will open new opportunities in the global apparel market and further strengthen Bangladesh’s position as a reliable sourcing destination,” he added.
Speaking to TBS, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., Poorana Seenivasan noted that the agreement was signed to support business expansion. “We have done this deal for business expansion. We will do it through partnership,” he said.
Industry stakeholders view the agreement as a positive development for South Asia’s apparel sector, highlighting the growing importance of cross-border partnerships in improving competitiveness, encouraging innovation, and supporting sustainable growth in the global fashion supply chain.
