Sugar Cookie Bars – The New York Times

I found these sugar cookie bars in my daughter’s American Girl Cookies cookbook, and I immediately knew I had to make them. They are happiness in a 9-by-13 pan. The cream cheese and the batter makes them super tender and slightly tangy, and then it’s topped with a buttercream frosting that’s just been touched with a little bit of lemon juice to balance it all out. And of course, you should absolutely have fun coloring the frosting and adding whatever sprinkles you’d like.
