A 10-year-old madrasah student was found dead in a washroom of a local madrasah in the Banasree area of the capital today (20 May).
The deceased was identified as Md Abdullah, son of Abul Kalam Azad of Anupnagar village in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj.
Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam of Rampura Police Station said police recovered the hanging body of Abdullah from the washroom on the second floor of Alokito Quran International Hifz Madrasah after being informed by locals in the morning.
“We suspect that he was sexually assaulted,” the SI said, adding that the exact cause of death will be confirmed following the autopsy report.
