Professor Dr Selim Raihan, a professor of economics at the University of Dhaka and executive director of the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (Sanem), has been appointed as a member of the board of trustees of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
He joined the board at its 128th meeting held today (28 July) and will serve as a trustee for the next three years, TIB said in a press release.
According to the release, Dr Raihan completed his master’s degree at the University of Dhaka and earned his PhD from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
He currently serves on the board of directors of the Global Development Network (GDN) and is an honorary senior research fellow at the University of Manchester. He is also an alumnus of Harvard University’s ‘Cutting Edge of Development Thinking’ programme.
Other trustees include The Daily Star Editor and Publisher Mahfuz Anam, who serves as treasurer, along with Advocate Susmita Chakma, Philip Gain, Bonshree Pal, Faruk Ahmed, Tahera Yasmin and Barrister Manzur Hassan.
