The Rajshahi district administration has announced the official mango harvesting schedule, commonly known as the mango calendar, for the 2026 season in a bid to prevent the marketing of unripe mangoes.
The calendar was unveiled at a meeting on mango transportation, marketing and harvesting held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner’s office this afternoon (10 May).
According to the schedule, all varieties of Guti mangoes can be harvested from 15 May, followed by Gopalbhog from 22 May, Raniposondo and Laxmanbhog from 25 May and Himsagar or Khirsapat from 30 May.
Banana Mango and Langra varieties can be harvested from 10 June, while Amrapali and Fazli will be available from 15 June. Harvesting of Bari Aam-4 will begin on 5 July, Ashwina from 10 July and Gourmati from 15 July. Katimon and Bari Aam-11 varieties will be available year-round.
Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kazi Shahidul Islam said the calendar was prepared in coordination with mango growers, traders and the agriculture department.
“The calendar has been introduced to ensure that no one harvests and markets unripe mangoes before the stipulated dates,” he said, adding that legal action would be taken against anyone violating the schedule.
This year, mango cultivation has taken place on 19,062 hectares of land in Rajshahi district. The administration has set a production target of 243,993 tonnes.
At an estimated price of Tk32 per kilogramme, the projected market value of the harvest is around Tk780 crore.
