Rain likely in 8 divisions over next 24 hours: BMD

Rain is likely in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9am today (26 August), according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

“Light to moderate rain and thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions,” said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning (26 August).

Moderately heavy rainfall may also occur at places across the country, it said.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly nationwide.

Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature at 35.7°C yesterday (25 August), while Sylhet recorded today’s lowest temperature at 24.2°C.

In the 24 hours until 6am today, the highest rainfall of 31mm was recorded in Sylhet.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:23pm today and rise at 5:38am (27 August).
