President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged Bangladeshi businesses and entrepreneurs to tap opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s skilled manpower, healthcare, education and infrastructure sectors.
He made the call today (28 September) when a seven-member delegation of the Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its President Ashraful Haque Chowdhury, met him at Bangabhaban.
The delegation briefed the president on opportunities emerging from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, World Expo and preparations for the 2034 Fifa World Cup, including major infrastructure projects and rising demand for skilled workers.
The president encouraged Bangladeshi businesses to engage in these sectors and assured the delegation of his support.
The chamber said it is working in five major Saudi cities to promote Bangladeshi products and services, highlight investment opportunities and strengthen the country’s image through skilled professionals trained in technical and technology-based fields.
The delegation also invited the president to attend the opening of an upcoming international seminar in Dhaka, which will bring together Saudi investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders.
He agreed to attend the event.
Other members of the delegation included chamber Vice-President Sheikh Nasir Uddin and directors Priti Chakraborty, Md Jannatul Ferdous, ABM Siddiq, Md Sazzad-Un-Newaz, Zahirul Mahmud Mamun and Shamsul Alam Liton.
