Prime Minister Tarique Rahman returned to Dhaka, wrapping up his daylong visit to Feni, where he attended a number of programmes, including the inauguration of a Tk1,542.16-crore flood control, drainage, and irrigation project.
“Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s motorcade reached his official residence around 11:15pm after completing his daylong visit to Feni,” said Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu.
During the visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Muhuri-Kohua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project Rehabilitation (Phase I) in Parshuram and launched canal excavation, river dredging, and embankment construction activities.
He also inaugurated a tree-planting programme at Begum Khaleda Zia Women’s College in Fulgazi and installed rooftop solar power systems at government institutions in Fulgazi, Chhagalnaiya, and Parshuram.
Later, at Fulgazi Government Pilot High School ground, he distributed Family Cards and Farmer Cards and provided honorariums to mosque imams, muezzins, khadims, and priests before addressing a public gathering.
The Prime Minister arrived in Feni around 1:15pm and left the district around 7pm for Dhaka.
