Missing child’s half-decomposed body recovered in Brahmanbaria

Police recovered the half-decomposed body of a seven-year-old girl from a pond in Brahmanbaria’s Nabinagar upazila today (21 September), three days after she went missing.

The body of Mim, daughter of Mizanur Rahman of Biddyakut village, was recovered from a pond in Biddyakut Union this afternoon.

According to her family, Mim left home on Saturday morning (19 September), saying she was going to her maternal grandfather’s house. When she did not return, family members searched various places but could not find her.

Locals later spotted the half-decomposed body in bushes beside the pond near Biddyakut Barabari and informed police.

Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Morshedul Alam Chowdhury said the body was sent to the morgue of Brahmanbaria General Hospital for autopsy.

“An investigation into the death has already begun,” he said.
