Bangladesh’s measles outbreak has claimed seven more lives in the 24 hours ending at 8am today (26 June), pushing the total death toll to 702 since mid-March, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the total deaths recorded since 15 March, 93 have been confirmed as caused by measles, while 609 people died with measles-like symptoms, the DGHS said.
A total of 107 confirmed measles cases were reported during the period, raising the overall tally to 11,549.
Meanwhile, 869 new suspected measles cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases to 97,522.
