MA Majid joined Panchagarh Zila Parishad as its administrator today.
Zila Parishad officials and employees, alongside BNP leaders, welcomed him with flowers when he arrived at the office on Wednesday morning (9 September).
Panchagarh District BNP Joint Convener and District and Sessions Judge’s Court Public Prosecutor Advocate Mirza Nazmul Islam Kajal first welcomed Majid with a bouquet. Representatives of different organisations and individuals later greeted him.
“I will work to advance the public welfare initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman,” Majid said.
He sought everyone’s cooperation in carrying out development projects and other activities across the district through the Zila Parishad.
The Local Government Division appointed Majid as administrator through a gazette notification issued on Monday (7 September).
Local Government Division Zila Parishad Branch Senior Assistant Secretary Tahmina Akter signed the notification.
Majid formally assumed responsibility from the Local Government Division secretary at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
He was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the death of former Panchagarh Zila Parishad Administrator Md Touhidul Islam.
