The government has appointed Kazi Jesin as the director general of Bangladesh Television (BTV) on a one-year contractual basis.
The appointment was announced in a notification issued today (6 August) by the Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to the notification, Jesin has been appointed to the Grade-1 post under Section 11(2) of the Bangladesh Television Authority Act, 2001. Her tenure will begin from the date of joining and remain valid for one year.
Before assuming office, Jesin must resign from any other profession, business or employment with any government, semi-government or private institution or organisation, the notification said.
It added that the remaining terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined in the contract signed between the government and the appointee.
The government said the appointment was made in the public interest.
