Dhaka University will launch a three-day programme tomorrow (1 August) to restore and preserve the July graffiti painted on walls across its campus.
The repainting and restoration work will continue until 3 August, covering areas from the Vice-Chancellor’s Office to Ruqayyah Hall while preserving the original character, spirit and significance of the artwork.
In a press release issued today (31 July), the university’s Public Relations Office requested all registered students and artists participating in the programme to assemble in front of the Zainul Gallery at the Faculty of Fine Arts by 9am tomorrow.
Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam will formally inaugurate the programme at 11am at the main gate of his residence.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Mohammad Al-Mojadded Al-Feshani, the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the university proctor and the director of the Arbory Culture Centre are also expected to attend the inauguration among others.Â
