InterContinental Dhaka is set to host the “Incredible Weddings Festival,” presented by Sensation, for the first time, aiming to make wedding planning more modern, grand and well organised.
The two-day festival will take place on 31 July and 1 August at the hotel’s Rupashi Bangla Grand Ballroom and Winter Garden. Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) PLC is supporting the event.
Details of the festival were announced at a press conference held at InterContinental Dhaka today (23 July).
Organisers said this would be the hotel’s first full-scale wedding festival, bringing together nearly all the services and solutions required for wedding planning under one roof.
The festival aims to serve as an integrated platform for couples planning their weddings, their families and wedding-related service providers.
Alongside InterContinental Dhaka’s exclusive wedding packages, visitors will be able to explore special offers, emerging trends and services from participating brands.
The exhibits will cover bridal and groom attire, jewellery, honeymoon planning, professional photography and cinematography, beauty and grooming, banking services, interior design, home appliances, premium footwear, wedding stationery, international cosmetics and luxury cars.
Several local and international brands will participate, including Sarah Karim Couture, Zurhem, Fierro, Amishe, FirstTrip, Dream Weaver, Persona Hair and Beauty, Berger Paints Bangladesh, Sony-Smart, Andromeda, Hourglass Emporium, Save the Date, Harlan New York, Sundora and Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh.
Sensation will also arrange free consultations with specialist physicians on premarital health, married life and family planning.
The festival will feature cultural performances, a fashion show by the Azra Mahmud Talent Camp, a Qawwali performance by Jaleor and a raffle draw.
Raffle winners will have the chance to win return air tickets for couples on the Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka route, along with other prizes.
According to the organisers, the festival will remain open from 11am to 10pm on both days.
To mark the occasion, InterContinental Dhaka’s Elements Global Dining will host special wedding-themed dinners from 29 July to 1 August, featuring popular wedding dishes such as mutton kacchi biryani, chicken roast and various kebabs. MTB cardholders will also receive a special “Buy One, Get Three” dining offer.
