Police said the cause of death will be determined after an autopsy

A High Court employee was found dead in a room beside a washroom in the Supreme Court’s Bijoy-71 Bhaban in Dhaka today (1 June).
The deceased was identified as Md Kamal Hossain, 47, who worked as a jamadar at the bench of High Court Justice Syed Enayet Hossain.
According to police and court sources, he was found hanging in the room on the eighth floor of the building around noon. After being informed, police from Shahbagh Police Station recovered the body around 2:30pm.
Police said they were initially treating the incident as a suspected suicide. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after an autopsy.
The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for post-mortem examination. Further legal action will be taken based on the investigation findings, police said.
