The High Court today (26 July) denied bail to Saheda Parveen, wife of Faisal Karim Masud, the key accused in the murder case of Inqilab Mancha Convener Sharif Osman Bin Hadi.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Khairul Alam and Justice AKM Rabiul Hasan passed the order, Assistant Attorney General Hosne Mobarak confirmed.
Saheda was arrested in Narayanganj on 14 December last year and later placed on remand.
She gave a confessional statement on 24 December.
According to the case statement, Osman Hadi was shot on 12 December 2025 while travelling in a battery-run autorickshaw in the Box Culvert Road area of Paltan.
The case alleges that Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Hossain opened fire on him before fleeing the scene.
Hadi was taken to Singapore for advanced treatment, where he died on 18 December.
Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber had filed the case at Paltan Model Police Station on 14 December as an attempted murder case. Following Hadi’s death, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad on 20 December ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code.
Police later submitted a charge sheet against 17 accused. The court subsequently ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct a further investigation after a naraji (no confidence) petition.
RAB also arrested Faisal’s brother-in-law Wahid Ahmed and friend Maria Akter on 14 December. Both later gave confessional statements in court.
