Gunze United Limited has successfully completed and commissioned a 424 kWp (kilowatt-peak) Rooftop Solar PV Project at its facility in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ), Savar, marking another step toward sustainable and efficient green energy generation in Bangladesh.
The rooftop solar project, comprising 722 solar panels, is now fully operational and generating clean electricity for the facility, reads a press release.
The project is expected to contribute to reducing dependence on conventional energy sources while supporting Gunze United Limited’s commitment to sustainable industrial operations.
The launching and commissioning ceremony was held today at the Gunze United Limited facility located at DEPZ in Savar, Dhaka. A Doa Mahfil was also organised on the occasion.
Director of United Group Khondaker Zayed Ahsan, its Group Executive Director Khandker Sayeedul Islam and managing director of Gunze United Limited, Managing Director of Gunze United Limited Hitoshi Mori attended the event.
Gunze United Limited’s 424 kWp solar installations demonstrate the potential for utilising industrial rooftop spaces for renewable energy generation without requiring additional land, supporting Bangladesh’s broader transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy.
