The government has decided to allow markets, shopping malls, and retail outlets across the country to remain open until 10pm ahead of Eid-ul-Adha to facilitate shoppers during the festive season.
In an order issued today (12 May), the Power Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources extended business hours, which will come into effect from today and continue until the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to the earlier directive to save power and energy, shopping malls, markets, and shops, which usually close at 7pm, will now be allowed to operate until 10pm during this period.
The Power Division also instructed all divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners to take necessary measures to ensure smooth implementation of the decision in their respective areas.
