The government has increased retail fuel prices at the consumer level, effective from 19 April, in line with rising global oil market trends.
According to a gazette notification issued by the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Division tonight (18 April), new prices have been set at Tk115 per litre for diesel, Tk140 for octane, Tk135 for petrol and Tk130 for kerosene.
The adjustment marks a significant rise across all major fuel categories. Diesel has gone up by Tk15 per litre, octane by Tk20, petrol by Tk19 and kerosene by Tk18.
Officials said the revision was made to align domestic fuel prices with international market movements, where oil prices have been climbing since the escalation of the Iran conflict and disruptions in global energy supply chains.
Octane recorded the sharpest increase among all fuel types.
