Former lawmaker of Netrokona-1 (Durgapur-Kalmakanda) constituency Mustaque Ahmed Ruhi was arrested by Mohammadpur police in Dhaka today (23 September).
He was arrested from a house on Iqbal Road in Mohammadpur around 4:45pm, said Md Jewel Rana, additional deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Mohammadpur zone.
“Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Ruhi from the house where he had been hiding. Several cases, including a murder case filed over the anti-discrimination student movement, have been filed against Ruhi,” he added.
Further legal action against the former MP is underway, the officer said.
