Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, has claimed that there has been “no feud” inside the family after the country musician’s estate filed a lawsuit against Parton’s nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver.
The 69-year-old took to social media on Wednesday to address the ongoing tension between Parton’s estate and her sister Cassie’s son Bryan, who was recently terminated from his security duty along with his company.
Frieda’s statement read, “I’ll say this and this only: there is no feud within our family.
“No one among the Parton/Owens family is fighting over Dolly’s estate.”
The singer further clarified her family’s relation with Bryan, noting, “We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other.”
She concluded her message by expressing her love for the Parton clan, “I love you all!!”
For those unaware, Bryan had been serving as head of security for Parton’s Nashville property, museum, and a warehouse. He took over the position after his dad.
This came after tension between Bryan and Parton’s manager Danny Nozell reportedly escalated.
As per documents obtained by People, the estate, She’s Alive, LLC (SAL), which Parton created for the protection of her legacy after her death, claimed in the filing that Bryan became “emboldened” after the Queen of Country’s death.
It further read, “Mr. Seaver began his campaign of threats, intimidation, and coercion a few weeks prior to Ms. Parton’s passing…. In writing, he vowed to ‘destroy the entire brand’ and also told her entertainment attorney: ‘I’m not an entertainment person. I’m a killer.’”
The filing also claimed Bryan made “threats of real-world violence” to Parton’s team, partners, business and legal advisors.
Parton’s manager even filed for a restraining order against Bryan, which was granted on Tuesday, as per TMZ.
