A sub-inspector (SI) of Kalabagan Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been missing for three days, police said.
The missing officer, Rakibul Hasan Sarker, 32, has been untraceable since Tuesday (28 April) afternoon.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard today (30 April), Inspector (Investigation) of Kalabagan Police Station, Ibrahim Hossain Sohel, said the SI had been staying at a temporary barrack in the Kathalbagan area.
“He was supposed to report for duty on Tuesday afternoon, but did not show up. Since then, there has been no trace of him,” he added.
“The last location of his mobile phone was found in Chawkbazar in Old Dhaka. His phone has been switched off since then,” he also said.
He added, “A missing GD has been filed at the police station on behalf of the police. We have contacted his family and friends. Wireless messages have been sent to all police stations across the country.”
Rakibul Hasan Sarker is the son of Maiz Uddin Sarker from Bapta village in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur.
