Police arrested Sattar Shah, also known as Dipjal, an alleged leader of “Danger” group, from Tulatoli Jamai Bazar area of Chattogram city during a special drive today (5 May).
He accused in 22 cases filed on charges such as murder, robbery, illegal arms possession, and drug-related offences, said a press release issued by the Chattogram Metropolitan Police.
The drive was led by Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Aftab Uddin. During the drive, a sharp weapon was also recovered.
Preliminary investigations suggest that organised criminal activities were carried out in different parts of the city under Dipjal’s leadership. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend his associates, the press release added.
