Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon said cheating in examinations has largely been eliminated in Bangladesh as the government works to improve education quality and build a modern, effective education system.
“We are identifying the obstacles to improving education quality and the challenges faced by teachers, and are working to address them,” he said.
Speaking at a meeting with examination centre chiefs at the Barishal District Shilpakala Academy today (25 June) ahead of the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations, he said results of all public examinations will be published within two months, followed by faster admission processes.
He further said authorities are planning to hold examinations using a single question paper across the country’s nine general education boards this year.
“No question paper leaks will be tolerated. Those involved in such offences will face punishment,” he said.
Addressing higher education, he said four-year degree programmes must be completed within four years and reiterated the government’s commitment to ending session delays.
“We do not want to stay in power by force. As long as we are in charge, we will act with strength and determination. We will bring change to Bangladesh’s education system, In Sha Allah,” he said.
According to officials, more than 60,000 candidates are expected to sit in the HSC and equivalent examinations at 150 centres across the Barishal division.
