The government has appointed Md Alamgir Hossain as the director general (DG) of the Directorate General of Drug Administration.
An additional secretary currently attached to the Ministry of Public Administration, Hossain’s appointment was announced in a gazette notification issued today (28 April).
The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Nur-e-Alam, said the appointment was made by order of the President.
Previously, Major General Md Shamim Haider had been serving as the director general of the agency since 22 October 2024.
