Students of Habibullah Bahar College in the capital’s Shantinagar area staged a human chain on the college campus today (14 May), demanding the removal of the college principal and the governing body over allegations of widespread financial irregularities.
The demonstration began around 11:30am, with participating students accusing Principal Col (retd) Imrul Qayes and the Governing Body, including its President Toufikul Islam Mithil, of corruption and demanding their resignation.
During the protest, students chanted slogans against corruption and what they described as a syndicate operating within the institution.
Protesters said they wanted accountability and transparency in the administration of the college.
