Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan has expressed hope for continued progress in Bangladesh-China relations for the benefit of the people of both countries.
He has also praised China’s remarkable achievements in modernisation, recalling the country’s early space accomplishments as an inspiration for nations across Asia and the developing world.
The minister came up with the remarks while addressing a programme, marking China’s National Day at Gulshan Club in the city yesterday (21 September).
Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen attended the event, hosted by the Bangladesh-China Culture, Economy & Mass Communication Center.
In his speech, Ambassador Yao said China-Bangladesh friendship stretches back a long way and grows stronger with time.
He expressed gratitude to all sectors of Bangladeshi society for their strong support and extensive engagement in China-Bangladesh friendly cooperation.
China stands ready to better share its experience in modernisation with Bangladesh, jointly build a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era, and lay a solid foundation for ushering in the next “Golden Fifty Years” of bilateral ties.
