Six people died of dengue and 1,593 new patients were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours to this morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest figures take this year’s dengue death toll to 184, while the cumulative number of cases has reached 61,972, according to a press release issued today (20 September) by the DGHS Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room.
Of the six deaths reported during the latest 24-hour period, two were recorded in Chattogram Division, two in Khulna Division, and one each in Barishal and Dhaka divisions.
Meanwhile, 1,587 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 57,610.
