Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (31 August) forecasted rain in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9am.
According to a Met office bulletin issued this morning, “Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka & Mymensingh divisions.”
Besides, it said, moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at places over the country.

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat, while today’s minimum temperature was 23.8 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.
In the last 24 hours (till 06 am today), the highest 68 millimetre rainfall occurred in Teknaf.
The sun sets at 6:18 pm today and rises at 5:40 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
