The transfers cover four ranks across key units and districts, including two metropolitan police commissioners, several superintendents of police and officials from the highway police.

The government has transferred 23 senior police officials, including deputy inspector generals (DIGs), additional DIGs, superintendents of police (SPs) and additional SPs, in a major reshuffle of the force.
The transfers were announced through four separate notifications issued by the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs today (12 August).
Under one notification, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Mohammad Abdul Mabud has been transferred to the Rangpur Range, while Industrial Police DIG Md Zulfikar Ali Haider has been posted to the Barishal Range.
Superintendent of Police Kaniz Hossain Jahan, currently with the metro rail, has been transferred to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
Special Superintendent of Police (supernumerary additional DIG) of Special Branch Zerin Akter has been transferred to Tangail Police Training Centre as SP.
SB Additional SP (supernumerary SP) Md Jahangir Alam has been transferred to Noakhali Police Training Centre as additional SP, while SB Special SP (supernumerary additional DIG) Mohammad Ehsan Sattar has been posted to Khulna Police Training Centre as SP.
In another notification, Kushtia SP Mohammad Jasim Uddin has been transferred to Gazipur, while Gazipur SP Md Sharif Uddin has been transferred to highway police.
SP Md Aminul Islam of the Sylhet Range DIG office has been posted to Kushtia, while Narayanganj SP Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munsi has been transferred to highway police.
Khulna SP Mohammad Tajul Islam has been transferred to APBn, and SP Sarkar Omar Faruk of the Police Staff College in Dhaka has been posted to Khulna.
Another notification transferred Highway Police Additional DIG Farida Yasmin to the Barishal Range DIG office and Highway Police Additional DIG Mir Moddasser Hossain to Sarda in Rajshahi.
Highway Police SP (supernumerary additional DIG) Mohammad Shahinur Alam Khan has been transferred to Special Branch, while Highway Police SP Md Rezaul Karim has been posted to APBn.
PBI SP Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, APBn SP Dipak Jyoti Khisa and RAB Additional DIG Md Saleh Uddin have all been transferred to the Highway Police.
In a fourth notification, Barishal Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Md Sharfuddin has been transferred to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), while APBn SP Muhammad Abdul Wahab has also been posted to the DMP.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police DC Md Akhtar Hossain has been transferred to the DMP, while CID Special SP Md Touhidul Arif has also been posted to the capital’s police force.
The orders, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately, according to the notifications.
