Police have arrested three more people in connection with the killing of Altaf Hossain, 58, a sub-inspector of the Special Branch (SB) of police, in Aminbazar, Savar.
The three were arrested in separate drives at different locations yesterday (8 September), taking the total number of arrests in the case to 14.
The arrestees are Golam Rabbi, 22, son of Arif; Kashem, 33, son of deceased Hachchu Mia; and Jeet, 22, son of Dalim Haji. All three are from the Bordeshi Westpara area of Aminbazar.
Rabbi was arrested from Aminbazar in Savar, Kashem from Cumilla and Jeet from Moulvibazar.

Zakir Al Ahsan said the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) handed over Alauddin, Apon, Jihad, Imran, Nur Mohammad Rudra, Sabbir Ahmed, Md Wasim and Raki to police on 7 September. Police also arrested Golam Rabbi early yesterday.
The nine accused were produced before the court at noon yesterday, with police seeking 10 days’ remand for each for interrogation.
Following the hearing, Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Tajul Islam Sohag granted five days’ remand each for Alauddin, Apon, Jihad, Imran, Nur Mohammad Rudra and Golam Rabbi.
The court also granted three days’ remand each for Billal and Delwar, who were arrested on 7 September.
As the remand hearings for Sabbir Ahmed, Md Wasim and Rakib had not taken place, the court ordered that they be sent to Keraniganj Central Jail.
Meanwhile, Johurul, who was arrested on the night of the incident, is being interrogated on a five-day remand.
