A teenager was stabbed to death following a dispute at a tea shop in Satkhira municipality last night (2 October).
The incident took place around 11:30pm in the Sangeeta intersection area of Satkhira town.
Victim Zakaria Khan was the son of Abdul Gafur, owner of Ruchira Bakery in Satkhira town.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses to identify those involved, said Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidur Rahman.
According to his family, an argument broke out between a tea shopkeeper and a member of a teen gang. The dispute later turned into a scuffle.
Zakaria tried to intervene. The gang member then attacked him with a knife, stabbing him in the chest and abdomen before fleeing, the family said.
The victim later died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
