The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered 16 crude bombs and four petrol bombs from the Talpukuria area under Shah Makhdum Police Station in Rajshahi city.
According to a press release, RAB-5 received information around 1:25am yesterday (23 September) that bomb-like objects had been abandoned in a cultivated spinach field.
The field is in an orchard beside the Northern Electricity Supply Company PLC (Nesco) electricity office, east of Talpukuria City Hat–Kamalchattar Road
Acting on the information, an RAB team conducted a raid and found two shopping bags.
A bomb disposal unit searched the bags using torches and searchlights.
16 crude bombs wrapped in cellotape and four petrol bombs were recovered from a white and a red shopping bag, in the presence of witnesses.
The recovered items were handed over to the relevant police station under a general diary (GD) for further legal action.
RAB-5 said it regularly conducts operations against terrorists, organised criminals, drug dealers, arms traffickers, snatchers and others involved in activities that disrupt law and order.
