Woody Harrelson has several accolades to his name, and now he is set to get another in Bosnia.
In the face of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo, which the actor will be bestowed at the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival.
In praise of Harrelson, Jovan Marjanović, director of the festival, said he is “one of those actors you believe in even in the most improbable roles, while at the same time you can easily imagine him as someone you might spend time with every day.”
He continued, “That remarkable ease of performance is, in fact, one of the hardest qualities to achieve on screen, yet he delivers it film after film.”
“His talent, charisma and boldness serve as an inspiration to many future generations.”
To burnish Harrelson’s career, the festival cited his inspiring performances, which even received Oscar nods for The People vs. Larry Flynt, The Messenger and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
In addition, to mark the festival, it will also screen Harrelson’s Welcome to Sarajevo, the 1997 war drama.
The True Detective star is not the only one set to receive the honour at the festival.
Diego Luna, best known for Andor, is another.
In his words, he described the accolade as “It’s been many years since I’ve wanted to go to Sarajevo; so many colleagues have spoken beautifully about the festival and their personal experience there.”
The Sarajevo Film Festival is set to take place from Aug. 14 to 21.
