Golf legend Tiger Woods reportedly wants to return to golf after pursuing medical care following his DUI arrest.
A source reported to People that the golf pro “desperately” wants to make his return to the course, as it will also keep him on track in his recovery.
After Tiger was arrested on suspected DUI charges following his car rollover accident, he announced on X in March that he was “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment.”
Now, the insider revealed his urge to return to the sport, explaining. “He knows he needs to beat his issues and also deal with the pain from not only playing golf but also from his regular fitness schedule.”
Moreover, the source said, people close to the athlete are standing behind him during this difficult time.
“People around him are supporting him, both personally and professionally. All of this is helping him deal with it enough to get through it.”
A second insider told the publisher that Tiger “still has golf in him,” however, injuries and age are making it “harder.”
“He just wants to get better in all areas of his life,” the source noted.
For those unversed, Tiger was taken under custody on March 27 on suspicion of driving under the influence after he was speeding down a street and crashed into a truck, causing his Range Rover to roll over. He was charged after he refused a urine test, though a breath test showed no alcohol, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported at the time. He was released hours after being arrested.
Tiger did not plead not guilty to his DUI charge.
The car crash came a week after Woods made his return to golf to compete in the TGL Finals after more than a year break from the sport.
