British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cook today (4 October) paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Cabinet Division at Bangladesh Secretariat.
During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, as well as issues of mutual interest, according to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.
The two sides emphasised further strengthening and diversifying the longstanding and friendly relations between the two countries.
They also discussed expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, economic cooperation, education, skills development, migration and human resource development.
The meeting also covered continued UK support for Bangladesh’s economic development and the prospects for further expanding trade and investment between the two countries.
They expressed hope of taking Bangladesh-UK relations forward and opening up new areas of cooperation in mutual interests.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and relevant officials were present during the meeting.
