Two people died of dengue in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, while 391 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period, according to the latest dengue situation report.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued today (15 July) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Both deaths were reported in the Dhaka South City Corporation area.
Of the newly hospitalised patients, 70 were from Barishal division, 53 from Chattogram, 64 from Dhaka division, 72 from Khulna, 16 from Mymensingh, 12 from Rajshahi, six from Rangpur and two from Sylhet, all outside the respective city corporation areas.
In the capital, 47 new patients were admitted under Dhaka North City Corporation and 49 under Dhaka South City Corporation.
With the latest fatalities, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year has risen to 30.
During the same 24-hour period, 336 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 8,458.
The cumulative number of dengue cases reported nationwide this year has now reached 9,370.
