The types of cybersecurity incidents Bangladeshis face

According to the ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals Survey 2024-25, only 0.9% of respondents in Bangladesh report experiencing a cybersecurity incident, with slightly higher rates among men (1.1%) than women (0.7%). This gap likely reflects higher internet use among men, with males more affected by virus infections and data misuse, while females face slightly higher exposure to fraudulent messages and identity theft.
