Tyler Duckworth, who won two seasons of MTV’s The Challenge, has passed away at the age of 44.
The TV star’s mom, Joni, announced his death on social media on Thursday, August 13.
“My son, Tyler, passed away earlier this week. Cause of death has yet to be determined,” she penned on Facebook.
“I will post on Facebook about services as soon as his dad and I figure it out,” added Tyler’s mom.
As per The Sun, Tyler was discovered unresponsive in his bathroom on Tuesday, August 11.
This case has been classified as an “unattended death,” meaning there were no witnesses present at the scene.
An insider spilled to a publication that the reality star had recently undergone surgery, although it’s unclear if that contributed to his death.
As the news of Tyler’s death broke, his Challenge castmates took to their social media handles to express their sorrow.
“Life is crazy. RIP Mighty Duckworth! You were so vibrant 2 weeks ago, it’s so wild to imagine your vibrant energy no longer here,” Paulie Calafiore wrote.
“Sending prayers and love to your family and friends. The Challenge fam lost a legend,” he added.
Meanwhile, Tina Barta also shared a long message on Instagram paying tribute to Tyler.
“It’s hard to find the right words when someone who was part of such a meaningful chapter of your life is suddenly gone,” she began.
Tine further penned, “We shared an experience that very few people will ever fully understand, and somewhere along the way, it became more than a show or an adventure. It became friendship. It became history. It became family.”
“Rest peacefully, my darling friend,” she concluded.
