Josh Grisetti, best known for his roles in Something Rotten! and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has passed away. He was 44.
As per People magazine, the Broadway actor committed suicide on Friday, July 10.
Rob McClure announced the television performer’s death on social media on Sunday, July 12.
“It is with a shattered heart that I share that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his own life on Friday,” Rob began the emotional note. “I’m not ready to even attempt to understand. My heart is with his wife and family as they try to deal with the reality of this.”
“[My wife] and I are beyond heartbroken,” he continued, adding that he served as the best man at Josh’s wedding.
“Communities around the world will never be the same without him,” the actor added. “We love you Josh. Just a cataclysmic loss. Memorial info to come in time.”
For those unversed, Rob starred alongside Josh in Something Rotten! on Broadway.
As he shared the sad news, many members of the Broadway community offered their condolences in the post’s comment section, including Rachel Zegler, Caissie Levy, Erika Henningsen, Donna Murphy, and Drew Gehling.
Born in Washington in 1981, Josh appeared in several Broadway musicals, including It Shoulda Been You, Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, David Burtka, Montego Glover, Lisa Howard, and Chip Zien.
However, he rose to fame after starring as Nigel Bottom in Something Rotten!.
