Shania Twain recently revealed why she believes her 15-year marriage has been a blessing for her.
For those unaware, Twain and Frédéric Thiébaud tied the knot on January 1, 2011, in Rincón, Puerto Rico, after their former spouses had an affair with one another.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, the 60-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter confessed that her current husband is her “forever true love.”
She told the outlet, “This is the love I’m going to grow old with and it’s a beautiful feeling.”
The Party for Two crooner explained, “I’m sure we’ll always have romance, but there’s a depth and a gratitude that I have about having this love.
“And if I [had] met Fred as a teenager, I do believe that he would have been my lifelong love even from then. It just takes sometimes years to find that person,” Twain quipped.
She went on to show gratitude to her husband for becoming a strong pillar in their union.
“He’s really good at reminding both of us that we have to keep communication open. He’s the greatest talker, and he’s not inhibited at all with expressing his feelings, which is really wonderful in a man,” the Don’t Be Stupid gushed.
“If you have a man that is really open and wants to keep the communication open, you’re blessed as a woman,” Shania Twain stated.
